Rosacea treatment with 1064nm micropulsed LASER – DYNAMICS®

Maria G Gutierrez

Aesthetic Medicine,

Cantabria, Spain

Dr Gutierrez used the ETHEREA-MX® platform, with the LongPulse® handpiece in DYNAMICS® mode.

Treatment:
  • Rosacea is a dermatological condition characterized by an alteration in the small blood vessels of the face and pilosebaceous units. It presents erythema of varying degrees, which may be associated with the appearance of pustules.

  • Rosacea treatments vary according to the type and degree of the condition. Topical medications and creams that relieve skin irritation can be used, as well as dermabrasion, electrosurgery, or laser and light.

  • The purpose of using the 1064nm micropulsed laser is to close microvessels, reducing erythema, as well as improving skin texture and closing pores.

  • The LongPulse® handpiece, compatible with the Etherea MX® and Zye ® platforms, works with long and short pulses (Dynamics® mode). Because it has a wavelength of 1064nm, the gold standard for the treatment of transdermal vascular lesions, it presents interesting results in rosacea.

  • Dr Gutierrez performed 2 sessions, with an interval of 3 weeks. Drug delivery with Skinox Redness (Skymedic), LED Red ( 630 ± 10nm) and home therapy with dermocosmetics were associated.
