Tattoo removal with the ACROMA-QS®

and DualMode® combination.

Dr. Marina Maldaner,

Dermatologist

Assis-SP, Brazil

This is a case report by Dr. Marina Maldaner, dermatologist from Assis (SP), Brazil using the ETHEREA-MX® platform, with the combination of two handpieces: ACROMA-QS® and DualMode®.

Treatment:
  • It is common for a tattoo to be used to "hide" scars, however, this practice is not always conducive to desirable aesthetic results. In the case described the patient expressed her dissatisfaction and asked for the removal of the tattoo made over the scar.

  • The ACROMA-QS® handpiece, compatible with the ETHEREA-MX® and ZYE® platforms is a 1064 nm ND:YAG laser and 532 nm KTP, Q-Switched, with pulses in 20 ns, very effective in removing pigmented lesions and tattoos. DualMode® is an Er:YAGablative fractional LASER, with wavelength of 2940 nm and several indications.

  • In the first three sessions, only the ACROMA-QS® LASER was used and, starting on the fourth session, the combination of ACROMA-QS® followed by DualMode® was applied in the same session to avoid the formation of a hypertrophic scar and overall improvement of the aesthetic aspect of the area. In the 3 days following the session, the patient used Cicaplast® associated with occlusive Drenison®.
